Ink Sac Squid
There are two main ways to do it.
Ink sac squid. The ink is released from the ink sacs located between the gills and is dispersed more widely when its release is accompanied by a jet of water from the siphon. Ink is mostly made from a dark pigment called melanin which is suspended in thick mucus along with small amounts of other things such as amino acids. If the ink sacs are large gently puncture them your knife and squeeze the contents into the bowl. The ink sac is where all of a squid s ink is stored.
Whenever the squid wants to use its ink it just squirts it out. Collecting ink sacs can prove quite time consuming. If you would like to try squid ink you can harvest the ink sac from a whole squid. The first is to dig a tunnel underneath the ocean.
An ink sac is an anatomical feature that is found in many cephalopod mollusks used to produce the defensive cephalopod ink with the exception of nocturnal and very deep water cephalopods all coleoidea squid octopus and cuttlefish which dwell in light conditions have an ink sac which can be used to expel a cloud of dark ink in order to confuse predators. Alternatively for a more convenient product you can purchase bottled or packaged squid ink in specialty stores. To save time a squid farm could be made to automatically gather ink sacs for your collection later on. Squid ink is blue black in colour while cuttlefish ink is brown and octopus ink is black.
Ink sacs were added to minecraft in early 2011 at the same time as squid and fifteen other colours of dye. The second is to make a man made lake or find a shallow pre existing lake. Ink sacs can be obtained by killing squid in minecraft. They are the darkest form of dye.
One to three sacs are dropped by squid when they die but you can also get them while fishing in bedrock edition you ll find them in stronghold storerooms or you can craft them from base elements.
